ok so ive come to the realisation that i can know longer tune out when the word monologues is brought up nor can i put it aside any longer as this term is crunch time..
Monologues was my most dreaded word ever! to this day i dont love the word because so many nervous anxious thoughts come to mind when i think about it.. however
as it is term 3 and the due date draws near it is time i put my acting hat on for the 1st time ever and pull something from god knows where to win the diamond ring at the end of this all..

from the day our class 1st came across the monologues and each of my class mates read them they all agrreed that i would be able to do AUNTY AVARICIA..
so ever since that has been who im trying to turn myself into..
i never thought of doing any other monologue as i just didnt.. never.. and this one i really loved anyway..

CHOSEN MONOLOGUE: AUNTY AVARICIA (BABES IN THE WOODS)

firstly, i put the monologue on que cards because if i didnt start learning my lines asap i would never know them…
i must admit i am ahead of my class in that respect.. to this date i know more lines than anyone..

“WELCOME MITTA MITTA TO A NIGHT THAT SHALL CHANGE YOUR LIVES. IT HAS BEEN SOME YEARS NOW SINCE THIS POOR AND TATTERED TROUPE OF MINE VENTURED THIS FAR BEYONG THE OF A LINE OUT TO WHERE A TREE IS BUT A MEMORY AND THE ONLY CROP IS DUST. SO MUCH HAS CHANGED SINCE WE LAST GRACED THIS FINE MARQUEY YOU SO WELCOMLY ERECT BEYOND YOUR LEAST REPELLENT GROG SHANTY.. (I THINK IM DOING OK MAYBE NOT? SOMETIMES I FORGET..)…. OUR SOCIETY HAS BECOME MATURE..”
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN BOYS AND GIRLS IT IS WITH GREAT PLEASURE THAT I WELCOME YOU HERE TONIGHT TO A SIMPLE TALE.. A PALTRY LITTLE STORY..

AND THATS IT… for now.. but ill be back with more

so far we have done an inclass progress presentation and you could say i aced it =)
we’ve started working with our scene partners
and we’re also getting lots of time for research..

so until next time.. peace

PRODUCTION WEEK

PRODUCTION WEEK

MONDAY (bump in)

This was the start of a very big week. Lisa, Burak, Teigan, cooper and I started off our week at Aitken College as we do most Monday mornings only this one was different.. No one else was a school it was a curriculum day. A day off to all, all who don’t do theatre that is. The work of production team is never done. So we loaded the trailer and the ute with out set and of we went to MIPAC where we would spend the next week of our lives.
Once we got to the theatre the rest of the crew was there as they were off gallivanting the streets of Brunswick. We unloaded the truck and ute and bump in official began.
We put the French legs on the walls of the set and began painting lots of things black. The boxes and set had been painted before we got to the theatre but we did another coat at the theatre. We also explored the theatre. I did my first coffee run of many and we had lunch, we did more painting and more painting and went home.

TUESDAY
On Tuesday Beth Gem Lisa and I well accompanied by cooper headed down to the theatre at recess. The rest of them team was heading down a bit later. Cooper had to go back and get the rest of the crew and while he did that beth and gem started patching the lights, I was kind of de briefed on what was going on but really had no idea with all those cords and plugs everywhere. I then did another coffee run which was my unofficial job of the week. When the rest of the gang arrived we did a run through with a bit of lighting and a bit of sound and I plotted most of the notes I ever had that day. It was the 1st time we got the real effect of how amazing the show was. After I saw it in the theatre I had so much more hope for 100. I new then it was going to be a success. We had a big notes session where even I got to write more notes down. We then had dinner and after that I think had another notes session. After that we painted the set when a few crewbies had to go home. We also began painting the set with sponges and a grey effect.

WEDNESDAY
Once again I went to the theatre at recess and began doing bits and pieces with a few of the other chicks from the team. We had a few run throughs this day fixed up everything that needed to be fixed and painted the set here there and everywhere. We had many full run throughs will lights and cameras and lots of action. Cast was in costume and hair and make up was done. The show looked awesome. This was when I found my cold concrete place for me backstage with my script and my smoke machine controller. Rehearsals were always important especially to get used to the bamboo and the bamboo holder. It was easy to put the bamboo back without making to much noise. I don’t think we ever got this perfect. This night we finished sponging the set and said goodbye to the theatre ready for opening night.

THURSDAY (opening night)
We were all very nervous at school on Thursday. I don’t anyone was truly prepared and ready to put on this show that we’d all worked so hard on. I don’t think any of us came to terms with the fact it was opening night until we actually got to the theatre that night.
So a group of us arrived at the theatre Thursday and my best friend Ms mikayla was there waiting to give me a hug J she said good luck and all.. She is our unofficial theatre class member. Everyone was very quiet his particular night and back stage everyone was full of nerves. Opening night was awesome! It went so so well. I gave the heads up to the cast to go into starting positions and there faces were priceless. There was a great crowed ready to watch around 50-60 people came opening night which was suprising to us all.
There was a question and answer after the first show and thanks to angus there was many questions.
Opening night, well… what to say it was our best performance.

FRIDAY
Friday night wasn’t the best performance but hey apart from Tashas mum no1 else had saw it so no one else new it was that bad. I guess you could say coops was a little upset but everyone was sorry. A few bits and pieces went wrong very wrong but hey the show went on.

SATURDAY NIGHT
The final night… Went ok… Good but not the best. I think we expected it to be awesome and it just wasn’t. Still I was happy and so was the cast with the job they’d done. Between Fame then 100 I think its time for us theatre kids to leave the theatre for a little while..

what a week

l_063414be4e116d81604a8a6bc4cf5247.jpghmm this week…

what happened? well we didnt have class monday and tuesday we had the double..

we were supposed to do the sac however due do the fact we needed to talk about it and needed to rehearse it turned into a production meeting and then a rehearsal kind of.

PRODUCTION MEETING

costume was the main topic of discussion this week much to Bethanys discust a massive change has been made and personally it should have always just gone with whatever bethany wanted.
It was decided instead of making the costumes that they would be purchased instead.
So after months pf talking about spollight its now.. savers talk
I didnt think there would be enough time to make the costumes so i was happy with the decision. Not to sound mean.. But i think it will look great with actual real clothing.

SAC DISCUSSION

We briefly spoke about the macbeth play sac and it helped a little.
The more important discussion took place at about 8.30 on msn on thurday night.
id like to thank tasha lisa and jarrod for there help…

BUT people.. what is context? cultural in particular..

SAC

We began our sac and i have know idea what is expected of me.. or of the class.
This was my first theatre sac. I have no idea how im going or if im even on the write track.

Sums up the week

week one (term 2)

Welcome back

this week was a big week

100
We have come so far in 100. i love that there are no scripts nearlly. it adds a whole new element to watching it. Teigan and Bethany got cracking on some prices for material for costume.
Oh i didnt do one for the last week of school so just quickly.
we’ve started set contruction and tested and played around with some lighting.. and maybe sound too?

MACBETH
It was the only way ive liked macbeth if that makes sense.
I didnt understand reading it and when we did it at school it was all everywhere and i never got to sit down and watch it but i loved it on tuesday night.
The lighting at the start alongside sound was fantastic! Sacred me but that was the whole point.
Costume and makeup was also great.

TOP ACTS
wow.. well.. what can i say… OH MY LORD?
how am i supposed to do one of them just happened to cross my mind saturday after noon and i wonder why!
They were fantastic.
I saw the monologues the yr 11’s did last yr at the concert and was impressed by them but the 06 yr 12’s definetly set a high standard.

MONOLOGUES
there out..
and im…
im…
sh!tting myself
eiii :(

week seven

i was absent for most of the week so my vineblog might be a tad different this week.

MONDAYS CLASS

On monday we did our usual thing.
we set up stage
actors got changed
i got my script out and we did more blocking

FRIDAYS CLASS

i think to date.. this has been my favourite class..
Today everything came together! Lights were up music was happening and majority of acting was done without a script. This was a class which made it clear why we had done so much work. Because for the first time i saw what it was and what was going to take place.
100 is going to be a masterpiece!

OFF TOPIC SLIGHTY (however still theatre related)

The logos for farmhouse productions and 100

what i love about this is its original however i dont feel like its very us (if you know what i mean) i love the font of both words hoever the image im not so fond of.

I love this i think it represents what 100 is all about.

I must appoligize for not being in class..

happy birthday to coops

happy birthday to coops

happy birthday to cooper

happy birthday to you

4 words sums this week up

YOU THINK WE FORGOT   (oh and lol)

Our beautiful theatre teacher turned a year older this week and he thought we forgot. He tried to hide it at first but in the end the class prevailed!!

100
Im loving 100 its coming together so well. We got alot of blocking done this week and progression is great. I think we’re on track according to the schedual. We had a production meeting which i unfortunetly could not attend due to a disruptive start of the year however im sure it was productive. The set design model looks great, costume ideas are forming and my little sketches of box positions in my script is coming alot nicely.

I have to appoligize now for how little my blog is this week..
its just that the week flew past and i have no idea what we did!

When i remember you’ll see more..

week five

Hey ya’ll

So week five has come and gone.. and what did we do u ask?

100
This week the farmhouse productions team got alot of work done.
Not only acting wise but i helped the set designers along with help from mr cranswick establish some great foundations for the design of the set. Lisa cracked the wip alot and got the actors buts into shape and alot of blocking was done this week.
The whole show is really coming together and its extrememly exciting to see.

STAGE MANAGING
This week my envolvement took much more place than it has so far!
I was called into meeting with lisa and Jarrod, got involved in set design (even though i kinda lost measurements), i helped in bits and pieces and started recording box plots stuff in my script.

AUDIT
This week we had our 1st official audit with mr M cooper. It was oh so official. I found the self analysis hard to fill out but other than that i think it ran pretty smoothly. So far im sitting on a B so i guess you gotta start somewhere and work your way to the top! I thought the audit was great. I was able to see where i needed to improve, areas i was cruzing with and how i can plan my next couple of weeks.

CLASS in general

week four

I think its really been more than for weeks but this is what we’re up to..

We only had a couple of classes this week it was very INTERUPTED!!
Poor mr cooper struggling with all the loss of the lost classes!! we’ll get through it though!

100
This week we did some more blocking and 100’s progressing nicely!
Working on the different characters voids are interesting. We’re experimenting with many different options for costume, setting and different ways of presenting the piece.
Everyones been contributing to the play. Its gonna be awsome!!!

Stage Manageing
until we decide on sound and lighting i dont have that much to say on this topic.
Ive been drawing little diagrams on where the box goes and how the bamboo sticks are used but other than this i think im on top of things.

Production meeting
This was helpful. Especially for teigan and bethany because they got to see different colours they can work with for costume. Jarrod and tash got toshow there bits and pieces for set design and i think whatever gets chosen is going to look fab. Burak and Erika’s advertiseing work is coming along great. The lost idea of Buraks is going to work really well.

Other than this..
I dont know..
It was a short week..
Another great week..
