I do appoligize for the lateness of this blog.. First it started off being late and then it got later when greenvale decided to have a black out..
So week two down..
A million to go.. This year has already gone so fast and to be honest sometimes its exciting and other times i wish it would just slow down.. Because realistically who really wants to leave the wonderfull world of Aitken College Theatre Studies?
                                    I know i definetly dont..
Well what was on for week two?
The hightlight
          Going to see the theatre that 100 will be performed in
                On thursday Jarrod, Tasha, Coops and i went down to Brunswick to check out the theatre. When we got there we couldnt beleive how small it was.. It really did look tiny, but once we went in we fell in love with it.. Some would say its cute.. Its quite old but still new inside. It seats roughly 97 so hopefully we will fill them up every night. The lighting supplied was pretty much all we need, well should be anyway. The sound and lighting desk was what we’ll use, however the theatre might need another cd player, if Jarrod and Josh dont get to do sound work with Mr Carrick, but thats the idea anyway.
I really am getting to like 100 more and more as we read it. I pick up new things all the time. Most people just found out that Ketu ends up dead.. Clearly those students did not read the end f the script.. The character choice so far has been prefect. Id like to congradulate Gemma on playing Sophie so well, its not that i didn’t think she could do it, shes just really entertaining to watch. Lisa although when running through her scenes, no-one could keep a straight face portrays her character well. The guide can be portrayed in many ways and every way she tries she really does to perfection.
Although there is never a low point in Theatre, between the crazy personalities and tension at awkward times… The only slightly bad thing is that we are slowly gettin a bit behind the schedual.. Im sure we’ll be fine though =)
Stage managing;
So far ive kept it on the downlow, i havnt had to do much work yet apart from being observant of whats going on, so far though its so good..
According to the description Stage managers plan and coordinate rehearsals and performances, including supervision of the plotting and rehearsal of technical cues, props, stage elements and moving scenery so im sure you’ll all see me doing something like that asap! According to the personal requirements when i did some research on my stage job
Personal Requirements: practical
artistic flair
authority and tact
                   able to work as part of a team.
The main one i like is the part of the team and being able to work well with them, why i like this is because the Aitken college theatre studies Farmhouse Productions team is clearly the best damn production team in the world!!!
So excited!!!!
