week three

Well where did this week begin?
We got some serious rehearsal time in this week. A lot more than usual. The cast and crew are really starting to get a handle on things. Everything in the production is starting to flow more.
We get in
we muck around
We set up
We muck around
We get changed
We muck around
We take our scripts out
We muck around
We get crackin!

Now you all may be thinking there’s a lot of mucking around going on in this class.. I assure you all… its all very relevant!

The cast are still adapting to there characters and ideas are flowing all throughout the room. There are still little disagreements here and there but right now we’re sticking to schedule and cruising.

The highlight of the week was Bethanys birthday for shizzle… or was it making Teigan go crazy? I don’t know.. Bit of a toughy.. But both were fun..
Bethanys cake was jus hot! And so yum! Good work Lisa… Bethany was so cute and so appreciative it was just a gorgeous momentJ
Now Teigan.. Well that was a giggle… May I ask u a question that is still yet to be answered..
WHATS IN THE BOX TEIGAN?

I got my special stage manager script which was also pretty exciting but other than that that sums up my week… well our week

Still loving theatre
Still so excited
Still go home and tell mum and dad I was born to do this because I just love it..
So yay!
GO THEATRE!!!!

week two

I do appoligize for the lateness of this blog.. First it started off being late and then it got later when greenvale decided to have a black out..

So week two down..
A million to go.. This year has already gone so fast and to be honest sometimes its exciting and other times i wish it would just slow down.. Because realistically who really wants to leave the wonderfull world of Aitken College Theatre Studies?
                                     I know i definetly dont..

Well what was on for week two?
The hightlight
Going to see the theatre that 100 will be performed in
On thursday Jarrod, Tasha, Coops and i went down to Brunswick to check out the theatre. When we got there we couldnt beleive how small it was.. It really did look tiny, but once we went in we fell in love with it.. Some would say its cute.. Its quite old but still new inside. It seats roughly 97 so hopefully we will fill them up every night. The lighting supplied was pretty much all we need, well should be anyway. The sound and lighting desk was what we’ll use, however the theatre might need another cd player, if Jarrod and Josh dont get to do sound work with Mr Carrick, but thats the idea anyway.

I really am getting to like 100 more and more as we read it. I pick up new things all the time. Most people just found out that Ketu ends up dead.. Clearly those students did not read the end f the script.. The character choice so far has been prefect. Id like to congradulate Gemma on playing Sophie so well, its not that i didn’t think she could do it, shes just really entertaining to watch. Lisa although when running through her scenes, no-one could keep a straight face portrays her character well. The guide can be portrayed in many ways and every way she tries she really does to perfection.

Although there is never a low point in Theatre, between the crazy personalities and tension at awkward times… The only slightly bad thing is that we are slowly gettin a bit behind the schedual.. Im sure we’ll be fine though =)

Stage managing;
So far ive kept it on the downlow, i havnt had to do much work yet apart from being observant of whats going on, so far though its so good..
According to the description Stage managers plan and coordinate rehearsals and performances, including supervision of the plotting and rehearsal of technical cues, props, stage elements and moving scenery so im sure you’ll all see me doing something like that asap! According to the personal requirements when i did some research on my stage job
Personal Requirements: practical

artistic flair

authority and tact

able to work as part of a team.

The main one i like is the part of the team and being able to work well with them, why i like this is because the Aitken college theatre studies Farmhouse Productions team is clearly the best damn production team in the world!!!

So excited!!!!

week one

ok well where to start..

i walked into another world on friday febuary 2nd, the most amazing school world ive ever been in.. At first i was lost! Completely lost and still am… but i really do love this new theatre studies world..

I dont get any of the jokes and i cant imagine the look on my face when there all laughing and im trying to work it out. I go home and think about some of the jokes and still to this day, i dont think ive got one.

The first week has been wow! I found out that i didnt just enter a new class i entered into a class of nutters! Mr cooper (the best theatrestudies teacher in the world) is awsome and so far im loving learning everything..

We, (well Mr Cooper) decided we’re doing 100 and i must say it was a great choice! We had a read through of the script and everyone loved it.. I find everyone so entertaining in this class.. They all make everything we do so interesting! So so far so good.. We all have our roles.. Im stage manager and in charge of props, im very excited!

So stage managing…Usually well so far in my career ive only ever been back up stage manager for lisa and bloky so this role makes me nervous. I dont know if i trust myself enough to take on this role but im glad everyone else does.

We talked about our extremely busy busy schedual and its all very excting.. Budget’s going to be the hard task of controlling i think..I dont know why i didnt do theatre last year, i guess im mental but i couldnt be more happier now that im doing it.

This new world im involved in and apart of i love and i simply cant wait for the rest of the year!

I dont think this length of my 1st blog makes the cut but i dont even know what im supposed to be writing…

So everyone in this class thanks for welcoming us newbies… Its been awsome!
